I’ve noticed that as I get older, even just one glass of wine can leave me feeling off—hello, “hangxiety.” But that doesn’t mean I don’t love a good drink, especially during the cozy winter months. So, I’ve started making winter mocktails that have all the flavor I’m craving but with ingredients that actually support my well-being. Think adaptogens instead of alcohol—ingredients that help, not hurt. So, I wanted to document and share the best winter mocktails I’ve come up with and tell you why I’m loving them this season.

Mocktails are often associated with Dry January, but I wanted to enjoy the holiday season with non-alcoholic drinks that still feel festive and indulgent. I love having something special to sip on that won’t leave me feeling like I’m recovering the next day. Instead of reaching for a classic cocktail, I’m creating mocktails that are loaded with ingredients I trust and love—like those from Apothekary and Organifi. These brands are rigorous about quality, using third-party testing to ensure everything is organic, non-GMO, and free of heavy metals and contaminants.

Winter, for me, is a time to recharge and embrace cozy moments. On chilly days, I love turning my living room into a sanctuary with a great movie and a delicious drink that feels like a treat but is actually good for me.

Here are the winter mocktails I’m making this season to celebrate without compromise.

Recipes for Winter Mocktails

Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon Apothekary Chill The F* Out blend (Reishi, Ashwagandha, calming herbs)
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
  • Whipped cream ( I prefer whipped coconut cream) and crushed candy canes for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat the almond milk in a small saucepan until it’s just below boiling.
  2. Whisk in the cocoa powder, Chill The F* Out blend, peppermint extract, and maple syrup until fully combined.
  3. Pour into a mug, top with whipped coconut cream, and garnish with crushed candy canes.

Note: Honestly, this one feels like winter in a cup. The peppermint just adds that brings out the festive spirit. Perfect for when I’m craving hot chocolate or a comforting drink but want to skip the sugar crash.

Hormone Harmony Hot Cocoa

Ingredients:

  • 1 scoop Organifi Harmony (Cacao, Maca, Shatavari, Chaste Tree, it tastes just like traditional hot chocolate but with way less sugar)
  • 1 cup oat milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon coconut sugar
  • Dark chocolate shavings and a cinnamon stick for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Warm the oat milk over medium heat.
  2. Stir in the Organifi Harmony, vanilla extract, and coconut sugar until smooth.
  3. Pour into a mug, garnish with dark chocolate shavings, and enjoy.

Note: I usually whip this one up during my luteal phase to support my hormones and help balance out those premenstrual swings. The adaptogens in this blend are perfect for easing into the evening with something that feels indulgent yet grounding.

Metabolic Spice Hot Toddy

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon Apothekary Blue Burn blend (Blue Spirulina, Ginger, Moringa, Cayenne)
  • 1 cup hot chamomile or ginger tea
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Fresh ginger slices and a lemon wheel for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Brew your tea and pour it into a mug.
  2. Stir in the Blue Burn blend, honey, and lemon juice until fully dissolved.
  3. Garnish with fresh ginger slices and a lemon wheel.

Note: I love starting my mornings with this one when I need a kick without caffeine. It’s warming, a bit spicy, and just wakes me up in a really gentle way.

Golden Milk Nightcap

Ingredients:

  • 1 scoop Organifi Golden Milk
  • 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Cinnamon stick for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Warm the coconut milk over medium heat.
  2. Whisk in the Golden Milk blend, spices, honey, and a pinch of black pepper.
  3. Pour into a mug, add a cinnamon stick, and sip slowly.

Note: This is my most common nighttime ritual. It’s such an easy mocktail to make, plus it’s packed with ingredients to lower inflammation while packing a flavorful punch.

Berry Anti-Stress Spritz

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon Apothekary Chill The F* Out blend
  • 1/2 cup mixed berry juice
  • 1/2 cup hibiscus tea (brewed and cooled)
  • 1 tablespoon elderberry syrup
  • Frozen or fresh berries, fresh cranberries, and a lemon wedge (or edible flowers)

Instructions:

  1. Combine the berry juice, hibiscus tea, elderberry syrup, and Chill The F* Out blend in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Shake well, strain into a glass over ice cubes, and garnish with berries and a lemon twist.

Note: I’m definitely sipping this in champagne flutes on New Year’s Eve. Its a fresh take on a sparkling winter berry holiday cocktail, it feels celebratory without the next-day regrets—light, fruity, and just a little fancy.

Winter Immunity Mule

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon Apothekary Blue Me Away blend (Blue Spirulina, Baobab, Maca)
  • 1/2 cup ginger beer
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate juice
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Pomegranate seeds and mint leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Combine ginger beer, pomegranate juice, lime juice, and Blue Me Away blend in a shaker.
  2. Strain into a glass of ice and garnish with pomegranate seeds and mint leaves.

Note: This one’s my secret weapon during sick season. It’s refreshing, a bit spicy, and packed with ingredients to help keep my immune system in check.

Dreamy Coconut Nightcap

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon Apothekary Do Not Disturb blend (Valerian Root, Lemon Balm)
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • Coconut flakes and a sprinkle of cinnamon for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Warm the coconut milk in a pot.
  2. Whisk in the Do Not Disturb blend, vanilla extract, and maple syrup until smooth.
  3. Pour into a mug and sprinkle with coconut flakes and cinnamon.

Note: When work has been crazy or stressful and I need to unwind, this is my go-to. The valerian root and lemon balm really help me relax and get ready for a good night’s sleep.

Herbal Winter G&T

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz non-alcoholic gin (like Seedlip Grove 42 or any other botanical non-alcoholic gin)
  • 1 oz rosemary simple syrup (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 oz freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
  • 4 oz tonic water
  • Grapefruit slices and a sprig of rosemary for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Fill a glass with ice. Add the non-alcoholic gin, rosemary simple syrup, and grapefruit juice.
  2. Stir gently to combine.
  3. Top with tonic water and garnish with a slice of grapefruit and rosemary sprigs.
  4. Serve in a large wine glass or balloon glass for a chic presentation.

Note: The non-alcoholic gin brings a botanical flavor that pairs well with the freshness of grapefruit and the warmth of rosemary, making this a sophisticated and refreshing option for winter gatherings. And it tastes just like the real thing.

These winter mocktails are my go-to this winter for celebrating the season without the aftereffects of alcohol. They’re crafted with intention—each one designed to bring something extra to the table, whether it’s calming herbs to help you unwind or adaptogens to support your immunity. I love that I can still enjoy a fun, flavorful drink without the side effects of alcohol. So, here’s to staying cozy, feeling good, and nourishing ourselves in the best way possible. Cheers to that!
